Pin Pad Donations at Checkout

Pin Pad Donations at Checkout

Customers may be invited to contribute to fundraising campaigns throughout the year by donating through the pin-pad at checkout in all UNIQLO stores.  The funds are collected and managed by our third-party vendor, Adyen, to ensure that the money does not go through UNIQLO’s system. Instead, the donations go straight to the non-profit organizations.

1. Can donation be made at self-checkout and tablet?

Yes, donations can be made via the pin pad at EITHER the self-checkout POS or the tablet POS.

2. How do I make a pin pad donation at checkout?

There will be 2 separate transactions at checkout. After you tap or insert your card to pay for your UNIQLO items, the screen will show up for optional donation request of $1, $3, or $5, or “No Thanks”.

If you want to make a pin pad donation, press the $ amount you want to donate and you will be asked to tap or insert your card to pay for the donation.

If you do not want to make a pin pad donation, press “No Thanks”.

3. Can customers donate in cash?

No.

4. Is donation tax deductible?

Yes it is.

5. How do customers get proof of donation?

The customer may access this on their bank statement.

6. Is the donation refundable?

Yes. If this is requested by the customer, they need to show a copy/screenshot of the charge on their bank statement. Please share this with the Customer Service Team by submitting the FORM HERE and we can work with Adyen to locate the donation charge and refund the customer.

7. Will my contact information be collected or shared when I make a pin pad donation at checkout?

No, we do not collect or share any contact details of the customer when they donate at checkout. The only information that is collected is the information that is needed to process the transaction, which does NOT include email addresses, phone numbers, or home addresses. The process is fully PCI compliant. For more information, you can review Adyen’s privacy statement.
